Bio

Sarah Sharkey is a composer and musician / singer. Inspired by her Irish heritage and by nature, Sarah writes instrumental music which tells her story.

Growing up in a musical family, she learned traditional Irish music from an early age. Attending a publicly funded music school from the age of seven, she was classically trained as a viola player. She played her first gig at the age of eight!

Having also since trained classically as a singer, Sarah has performed with various choirs at venues including the Royal Albert Hall. While she loved playing music, Sarah’s favourite hobby since childhood was writing her own melodies! She has been studying composition formally for 3 years.

Her first album of original compositions, Lúnasa, is out now.

Sarah is based in London and enjoys coffee, reading and spending time with Bella the dachshund.
